US President Donald Trump has accused CNN and the New York Times of “lying” for their claims that the US strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities did not fully disrupt Tehran’s ability to produce nuclear weapons.
US President Donald Trump reacted to news in the US media claiming that the attack on Iranian nuclear facilities “did not fully affect the nuclear facilities, only delaying the work by a few months” in a post he shared on his Truth Social account. The US President made the following assessment: “The fake news channel CNN, together with the failed New York Times, teamed up to render one of the most successful military attacks in history ineffective.”
“YOU ARE MAKING FAKE NEWS”
“The nuclear facility in Iran has been completely destroyed. Both the NY Times and CNN are being criticized harshly by the public,” Trump said, accusing influential US media outlets of “fake news.”
TRUMP: NUCLEAR CAPACITY COMPLETELY DESTROYED
Following the attacks carried out by US B-2 bombers and submarines on three Iranian nuclear facilities, Trump announced on various platforms that Tehran ‘s nuclear capacity had been “completely destroyed.” Some media outlets in the country, however, claimed that this was not true, but that an effect could be created that could set Iran’s nuclear work back by a few months.
“WE SENT 12 SHELTER BOMBS TO FORDO”
President Donald Trump’s Special Representative Steve Witkoff has denied claims in the US media that the airstrikes on Iran “destroyed” Tehran’s nuclear capacity. “We sent 12 bunker buster bombs to (Iran’s nuclear facility) Fordo. There’s no doubt that they penetrated the containment and destroyed it,” Witkoff said in a live broadcast on Fox News.
“THE NEWS THAT THE TARGET HAS NOT BEEN REACHED ARE ABSOLUTE”
Responding to the allegations in the US media, Witkoff said, “Leaking this kind of information, no matter what the information is and which side it belongs to, is ugly. This is treason, so it must be investigated. And whoever did this, whoever is responsible for this, must be held accountable.” Witkoff stated that he had read not only the US’s but also “other countries’ reports” and that the news implying that the target could not be reached was “completely ridiculous.”
“THE TRANSFORMATION FACILITY IN ISFAHAN WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED”
The Special Representative, who stated that Iran’s Isfahan nuclear facility was also a “conversion facility” necessary to metallize the material at the end of enrichment, claimed, “As far as we know, this conversion facility in Isfahan, the only facility in Iran that can do this, has been completely destroyed.” Witkoff also stated that Israel had previously targeted two other underground nuclear facilities that they had bombed “one after the other” to ensure that they were completely destroyed, and that he had “no doubt” about the outcome.
