Prof. Dr. Esat Arslan: Israel was terribly wrong

Answering questions from presenter Melis Yaşar on Haberler.com, Prof. Dr. Esat Arslan made striking assessments regarding the 12-day-long clashes between Israel and Iran and the ceasefire decision. Arslan said, “They thought they would do to Iran what they did to Gaza and Syria, but they were terribly wrong.”

Answering the questions of presenter Melis Yaşar on Haberler.com, Prof. Dr. Esat Arslan made striking assessments regarding the 12-day conflict between Israel and Iran and the ceasefire decision.

“THEY THOUGHT IRAN WAS LIKE SYRIA AND THEY WERE SEVERELY MISTAKE”

Arslan, who stated that Israel was wrong, used the following expressions: “In fact, they thought that they would do the same thing to Iran, knowing that what they did to Gaza, what they did to Syria, and that Iraq as a whole could not produce a reflex to resist anything. They were terribly wrong. Terribly wrong. Iran, which you call a country of 1.5 million square kilometers, twice the size of Türkiye, and with 90 million people. When we saw that they dropped bombs on the Iranian geography in the squares, what happened? We saw a people filling the squares.”

“THE WESTERN MIND STILL APPROACHES THE ISSUE WITH AN ORIENTALIST PHILOSOPHY”

Referring to the Crusades, Arslan said, “The Western mindset was still perceiving this issue with an orientalist philosophy. What is orientalist philosophy? Solving the problems of the East with a materialist knowledge accumulation, worldly knowledge that you learned in the West, has become the mentality of ‘I will discipline you’. Sir, this will not work in the East. So who were the winners of the Crusades? Of course, it was the Orthodox and Muslims in the region.”

“THESE SHOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED AS VIOLATIONS OF THE CEASE-FIRE”

Arslan, who evaluated Iran’s denial of the allegations that it fired missiles at Israel after the ceasefire decision, continued his words as follows: “I had said this before; a ceasefire is not something that means stopping the fire, putting down the weapons, leaving them. Because there are those who oppose this. One of them can say ‘No, the war must continue’ and even missile commanders can fire the missiles in their hands. I had said that such things can happen. However, these should not be considered violations of the ceasefire. In my opinion, this is what happened. The denial shows that Iran did not attempt anything like this.”
